Course Overview

Completing this nationally recognised course is an excellent way to kick-start your career in child care, it introduces you to looking after children and starting your career.

The course is a combination of vocational units, personal and social development units and functional skills.

You will study topics including:

– Caring for Babies and Young Children
– Physical Activities for Young Children
– Creative Activities for Young Children
– Musical Experiences for Young Children

Course Requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grade 2 or above (including maths and English Language).

What you will Learn

Training is delivered by experienced specialist tutors. You will be expected to undertake a full week of work experience as part of the course.

Course related exhibitions and trips will be made during the course.

Assessment

You will be assessed by coursework, assignments and a creative folder.

Progression

On completion of the Level 1 Certificate – awarded by Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education, you can progress to the NCFE Cache Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner – Level 2, other Level 2 courses or Childcare Apprenticeship Level 2.
