Course Overview

Completing this nationally recognised course is an excellent way to kick-start your career in childcare and early years, it introduces you to looking after children and starting your career.

Course Requirements

There are no formal entry prerequisites; however, prospective applicants are expected to possess a genuine interest in exploring the health, social care and early years sector. All prospective learners will undertake an informal interview and complete a skills scan & initial assessment.

What you will Learn

The course is a combination of vocational units, personal and social development units.

You will study topics including:
Caring for Babies and Young Children
Physical Activities for Young Children
Creative Activities for Young Children
Musical Experiences for Young Children

Assessment

You will be assessed by coursework, assignments and a creative folder.

Progression

Successful students may progress to a level 2.
