Course Overview

On this course you will learn about the ways computing hardware and software are used in business by exploring different subject areas within computing that include: Information Technology Systems, Programming and App Development, Cyber Security, Networking and Cloud Storage, IT Technical Support. You will also learn about the business use of Social Media and Marketing as well as how project management is used in the planning and delivery of IT services.

Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English Language and/or maths).

What you will Learn

You will learn about the ways computing hardware and software are used in business by exploring different subject areas within computing. You will also learn about the business use of Social Media and Marketing as well as how project management is used in the planning and delivery of IT services.

Assessment

You will undertake practical assessments in the form of internally assessed assignments as well as externally assessed tasks and written examinations.

Progression

When studied along with other level 3 qualifications such as A levels. learners are capable of progressing to higher education, where they can study a BTEC Higher National in IT, or an IT related degree.

Career Options

With a degree in an IT related field, Career prospects could be working in the cyber security sector, or as a software engineer. For those who dont progess to higher education, entry level roles are available for web/content development, games design, programming and IT/business analysis support.
