Course Overview

This exciting new T Level Building Services Engineering is equivalent to 3 A Levels and the perfect stepping stone for anyone wanting a career in construction, specialising in plumbing and heating engineering. Students will learn in our state-of-the-art fully equipped workshops. Our workshops and classrooms have the latest industry relevant technology and equipment.

Course Requirements

GCSEs at Grade 4 or above in Maths, English and Science.

What you will Learn

This program covers a broad spectrum of construction-related skills and knowledge, encompassing areas such as health and safety, building design science, measurement accuracy, construction methods, regulations, data management, customer service, IoT’s impact, digital engineering, mathematical problem-solving, design principles, industry economics, sustainability, and corporate responsibility. Additionally, it focuses on building services engineering, delving into building technology, HVAC systems, air conditioning, heat pumps, solar thermal energy, maintenance, tools and materials, water systems, and heating systems.

Assessment

T level is all externally assessed by City & Guilds. Must pass work placement and hit targets whilst in the workplace. Summative practical assessment marked by tutor moderated by City & Guilds.

Progression

Progression opportunities from the T level are broad, plumbing apprentice route (you will go straight in at phase 3 due to prior learning on the T level) Higher education in building services HTQ delivered at Stockport Campus.

Career Options

This T Level will fully prepare you for employment and a dynamic career. Due to the broad range of topics covered on the Engineering for Construction T Level, you’ll be equipped for a career in a variety of settings. You could work as a:

Building Services Engineer, earning up to œ50,000 per year
Heating & Ventilation Engineer, earning up to œ35,000 per year

You can also use this T Level to progress to a related higher-level apprenticeship or course of study at degree level.

Other careers may include Heating Technician, Plumber, Heating engineer, Site manager, System Designer, Teacher.
