Uniformed Public Services
Depending on the role you’re after, you’ll need to acquire different skill sets. You could join the armed forces or the police force, be a prison guard, a security guard, a firefighter or a paramedic; the choice is yours. You’ll increase your fitness levels and physical endurance whilst developing your problem-solving, leadership and communication skills. You’ll also have the chance to supplement your studies by taking part in extensive outdoor activities through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (DofE) and National Citizen Service (NSC), which are well regarded by employers in the sector.
