Meet Our Apprentices: Toby Hallam

by india

For National Apprenticeship Week 2022, we’re showcasing some of our apprentices to celebrate their achievements and future career prospects that have been influenced by studying an apprenticeship. We spoke to apprentice Toby Hallam about her experience:

Toby Hallam has been incredibly successful at college thus far. His dedication to his course at the college led him to secure a brilliant apprenticeship opportunity with the reputable construction engineering company EXYTE Hargreaves, based in Bury. With the knowledge he has gained through his apprenticeship and course at college, Toby competed in the Worlds Skills Competition 2021 and managed to take home a bronze medal!

Toby’s experience studying an Apprenticeship:

Having competed in the IT Technician Support category, Toby said:

“I enjoyed the challenge of the competition because it involved using different software and other things I haven’t worked on before. But my IT Infrastructure Technician level 3 course at college prepared me for other tasks, for example involving Virtual Box which I’d already been introduced to.”

The college is extremely proud to have contributed to his amazing success in competing.

Toby’s Future Plans

Through his apprenticeship at EXYTE Hargreaves, Toby has been offered employment within the company once he has completed his final exams this summer. Securing a job after completing an apprenticeship is a brilliant advantage for those students choosing the apprenticeship route of education.
