Attendance and absences

If your young person is struggling to attend college – due to challenges with mental health, finances, health, relationships or other issues – or if they need extra support in any way, we are here to help.

Find out about the support we offer, and how to report an absence.

Bursaries and financial support

Depending on your young person’s circumstances we may be able to offer financial support for: travel to college; food and drinks at college; course equipment, printing and trips; childcare costs, and more.

Mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding

We are committed to keeping our students safe and supporting their wellbeing.

We offer free mentoring, mental health resources and counselling. The counselling is provided by qualified counsellors and is available 24/7.

If your young person is at risk of harm, self-harming, being bullied, being harassed or feeling unsafe, contact us confidentially to share your concerns.

Additional Learning Support (SEND)

Our Inclusion Team provides specialist support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We’ll work with your young person to identify the right support for their individual needs, helping them to learn, grow and succeed.

Enriching the college experience

College life is not just about studying – it is also about having fun, making friends, and preparing for life.

We offer students exciting activities – including social clubs, events, sports activities, leadership opportunities, cultural experiences, volunteering projects and more.

Careers and work experience

Careers and work experience is woven into our courses via industry placements, tutorials covering key employability skills, employer-led projects, workplace visits, industry guest speakers, volunteering opportunities and real-world simulations.

Our qualified careers advisors are on hand to help students:

  • make informed choices about their next steps
  • apply for university, apprenticeships and jobs
  • prepare CVs and get ready for job interviews
  • find work experience, and more.
