Course Overview

This programme is the equivalent of three A levels, but without the added pressure of external exams. This is an exciting alternative to a traditional Level 3 Business and Management programme, providing opportunities for employment in Travel & Tourism, or progression into higher education. It is also ideal for those that may wish to work within the travel and tourism industry who need specific vocational knowledge at this level for employment. Overseas and day visits linked to the curriculum each year. Past destinations have included Spain, Mallorca, Fuerteventura, Portugal and France. We also have extensive day visits including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Chester Zoo and the Lake District. Destinations will vary each year.

Course Requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 9 – 4 including Maths and English

What you will Learn

Students will study a range of courses, Uk Travel and Tourism industry, Customer Service, UK Tour Operations, Travel agency operations, Marketing in travel and tourism, Investigating airline cabin crew, UK airports, Worldwide passenger airlines, Responsible tourism, Cruise industry and Work experience in travel and tourism.

Students will also need to source a 1 week industry placement previous placements have been at Premier Inn, Manchester Museum, Holiday Inn Express, Manchester Airport, Travel Agents, Chill Factor and Eurocamp.
This course is also available as a one year option, equivalent to one A level. Please ask for details (Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Travel and Tourism).

The estimated costs associated with the course are œ600 per year. This payment will contribute towards the overseas visits and day visits programme. Financial support may be available for students experiencing financial difficulties.

Course fees are payable for students aged 19 and over.

Assessment

Students will be assessed using course work and role plays. The overall grade for the qualification is awarded to learners who successfully complete all units.

Progression

Successful students may progress onto HND or degree courses in Travel and Tourism studies, into employment in the travel and tourism industry or onto Level 2 Cabin Crew.

Once you have completed this course, you will be ready to launch your career in one of the most exciting and fastest-growing industries. You may choose to work within a holiday resort, events management, an airport and much more
