Course Overview

This course is aimed at students who would like to work in a range of roles in the Engineering & Manufacturing sector. This course provides the opportunity for you to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development, manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. This qualification could lead to employment in a number of sectors including Automatic Manufacturing, Maintenance Engineering or Machining.

Course Requirements

5 GCSE’s grades 4 or above including English Language and Maths at grade 5 or above.

What you will Learn

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills required to carry out a role as an engineering fitter or metal fabricator.
They will also develop transferable skills which employers value, like working efficiently and effectively and contributing to improving business performance. Crucially, they will learn to perform tasks to meet regulatory and legal requirements. These skills can support working in alternative job roles within the engineering sector.

Assessment

You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. All the units are assessed by course assignments, which meet grading criteria for Pass, Merit and Distinction.

Progression

After successful completion of this course you may go on to Higher Education or into a specialist area of employment.
