Course Overview

The course covers basic car maintenance, including wheels, tyres, brakes, and service checks. You will learn practical skills in workshops to perform simple maintenance tasks on your own vehicle, saving you time and money.

Course Requirements

No specific qualifications, previous learning or experience is required. An initial assessment of each candidate will be made before the start of the programme to identify candidates that have any specific training needs support, credit they have accumulated and the appropriate type and level of qualification. There will be an induction programme so the candidate fully understands the requirements of the qualification.

What you will Learn

Checking and maintaining tyre pressure.
Replacing brake pads.
Conducting routine service checks to ensure the car runs smoothly.
Checking oil levels and changing the oil and filter as needed.
Inspecting and topping off fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.

Assessment

There is no formal examination; but tutors will continually assess your development needs throughout the short course.

Upon successful completion of the course Students can progress to a multitude of skills for work and life courses.
