Course Overview
Incorporating painting and drawing skills. There will be a different assignment each week, which will require some earlier preparation at home such as gathering ideas, some drawing/research in your sketchbook and thinking about materials
Students are required to have elements of a basic starter kit - Paint brushes, acrylic and/ or gouache paints, sketch pad and pencils

What you will Learn
Colour, composition, mark making, colour values, surfaces, grounds and mediums are covered in this course that will explore technical aspects of painting in acrylics and/or gouache with a weekly project and home-study.

After completing Being Creative - Painting Foundations, learners can progress to further study in art and design or explore a range of creative career pathways. Opportunities may include working as an artist, illustrator, community arts worker, gallery assistant, mural artist, or creative workshop facilitator. The course also provides a strong foundation for developing a portfolio and pursuing specialist creative qualifications and careers within the arts and creative industries.
