Painting: Developing Your Practice

Course Overview

This course is designed to support the development of your painting practice through self-directed sessions, helping you build confidence in the use of materials, techniques, and creative decision-making. Each week, we will explore a specific theme or topic, accompanied by a practical painting assignment.

Every session will include a homework task that will be reviewed and incorporated into the following week's activities. You will also be encouraged to maintain a sketchbook diary to document your ideas, observations, experiments, and artistic progress throughout the course.

Students are required to have elements of a basic starter kit - Paint brushes, water-based paints (acrylic or gouache), sketch pad and pencils.

This course will be held at Stockport Art Gallery, Wellington Road South, Stockport SK3 8AB
