Trafford College is celebrating after its talented football team secured the league title!
The team has had a fantastic season filled with determination, teamwork, and outstanding performances on the pitch.
The team delivered an outstanding unbeaten season, winning 12 out of 14 games and drawing the remaining two. They scored an impressive 67 goals and conceded just 21, finishing with a goal difference of +46, 18 ahead of second-placed Tameside.
The title was effectively secured with a commanding 4–0 win over Riverside Cronton, which left Tameside needing to win all their remaining fixtures and rely on Trafford losing their final two. When Tameside fell to Salford, the title was confirmed. The team closed out the season in style with emphatic 10–1 and 3–0 victories, underlining their dominance and securing a well-deserved championship.
Damian Harris, Head of Studies for Sport & Uniformed Protective Services, praised the players’ achievements, commenting: “I’m incredibly proud of what our students have achieved this season.
“Their commitment, discipline, and passion for the game have been outstanding, and this success reflects the effort they’ve put in both on and off the field. This is a fantastic moment for our football programme and the college as a whole.”
This league victory is a testament not only to the players’ skills but also to the strength of the college’s sports programme, which continues to nurture and develop young talent. Trafford College looks forward to building on this success in future seasons.
