Trafford College Students Present to Trafford Council’s Children and Families Scrutiny Committee

by jake

Students from the college recently had the opportunity to speak to members of the Children and Families Scrutiny Committee at Trafford Town Hall about certain topics that they feel are important to consider when looking at student wellbeing.

The scrutiny committees at local council level are extremely important in making changes to the delivery of services across Trafford, therefore its incredibly important to have an annual place where student voices can be heard by decision makers at local council level.

Through presenting in a formal environment, our students were able to improve their communication, reasoning and research skills and also enhance their personal and social skills.

Student Presentation Topics:

  • The Climate Crisis – Liberty Joul
  • Physical Fitness and the link to Mental Health & Wellbeing – Laura Kenneth-Olubur
  • Travel costs for young people – Ann Fernandes

Trafford College is extremely proud to have students who aren’t afraid to speak up on topics they’re passionate about. A huge well done to those who presented to the local council members!
